Learning Module #2

Wordle: LJ2
Learning Module 2 had a whole slew of information.  I learned a lot more about the internet security risks and exactly how those risks can affect you.  I already knew that it is very important to have security software in place on your computer at all times but I didn't know exactly what it does for your computer.  I also learned a lot about child safety on the internet.  This information will certainly come in handy when my daughter is older and begins to discover things such as chatrooms on the internet.  Having this information will allow me to better educate her on the risks of using the internet and what exactly to watch out for.

Using Jing was a new experience for me.  I found the program very easy to use and I could definitely see how it may be useful to me in the future.  The browser comparison web lab was also very useful.  I had no idea that there are so many different browsers offering different features.  It also showed me how many different functions the browsers I already use have.

Overall in this module, I learned an awful lot.  I feel like I did put in the time needed in order to get what I needed out of this module.  The exception may be the Voicethread discussion, which I will pay greater attention to in the future.  As far as the lessons and web labs are concerned,  it was absolutely necessary that I had devoted adequate time into those assignments in order to have any understanding on the current subject.
